Random phone pics

Since I haven't had much to blog about, I went through my phone pics to see what was on there. Here is a bunch of random phone pics!

End of May:

I rewarded myself for changing diapers for seven straight years (with two in diapers twice) and potty training three kids by getting a much needed manicure.

I chose bold, bright, fun summer colors. Shane wasn't a big fan, but I loved them.

I've been babysitting my older sister, Suzanna's, kids one day a week all summer, which has been good to give me some cuddle time with this cutie:

June:

I was called to be in charge of the Relief Society meetings at the end of May, which made me feel obligated to go to the activity at the beginning of June, even though I wasn't officially in charge of that one. We did a Temple Square Garden Tour and it was SO. BORING. Even the women there who loved gardening were bored. This is why there are rarely any people at our activities. I'm going to change that. ;)

Anyway, I got a decent shot of the temple on our way out, so it was still good to go.

 Ari has had a rough summer. June 8th she woke up puking. :(

By that night, though, she felt much better!

We finally got around to watching The Lego Movie. The kids were concerned for the main guys' safety.

 A week later we found ourselves in the doctor's office for Ari. She was coughing a lot and having issues breathing properly. With her having had RSV, we take her in for any lung issues at all.

 She was put on some medication to help as well as ward off pneumonia, and, of course, had to do breathing treatments. She's such a pro with them by this point that the week before when she had puked first thing in the morning, the first thing she said was, "I guess I need a breathing treatment." haha A sad thing to be a pro at.

For McKayla's birthday, we went to her house for cake and ice cream, but the kids got the chickens out first! (Even though they weren't supposed to. My kids didn't start it, but they certainly participated.) ;)

I actually thought Lexi would be the first one to hold a chicken (of my kids), but she was too busy playing dollhouse inside. And I'm really surprised that these two were willing and excited to hold the chickens!

That sums up June! I was hoping for healthier kids in July!

Summer Fun

We haven't been spending a large amount of time outdoors this summer because heat. So it feels like we've been boring, but we've done a ton of projects inside, so that counts for something, right? ;)

Kaden made a paper piggy bank to match his regular piggy bank.

Kaden was loving the puppet when I noticed his tooth hanging a bit.

I told him if it was out in the next minute, I'd give him a dollar on top of what the tooth fairy brings.

Ten seconds later it was out! hahaha

I got a video of him pulling his own tooth out, but it's too big for Blogger. (boo!) but it's funny because he has a paper towel and says, "It's still too slippe-OH MY GOSH MY TOOTH CAME OUT! I DID IT! I DID IT!" The one next to it is really loose as well, so I bet it will be out before school starts (in 22 days!).

Independence Day

Our fourth of July weekend was PACKED. We started out, of course, with the West Point parade.

We killed time with the snap it things.

I told the kids that people wouldn't throw candy if they didn't wave. The girls waved tirelessly the entire time.

The float people had to have two people holding the eagle down so they didn't take out any power lines.

Check out how full Lexi's bag of candy is. All of my kids left with their bags that full.

So, funny story about this guy. (Zoom in to see him better. He really is a cutie.) When he got to us, he was chuckling at how hard the girls were waving, but Lexi just knew he was chuckling out of love for her. Seriously. She said that he was really cute and she would probably marry him. I hope his wife doesn't mind. ;)

After that, we headed to my mom's house for a BBQ and, if I took any pictures, they are on my phone and I don't feel like checking at the moment. :) After the BBQ, we went home for naps, had dinner, and then did fireworks with the neighbors. Everyone there got eaten alive by mosquitoes. Kaden had 23 bites in the short time we were out there! It was miserable.

Saturday we hung out until it was time to head down to Draper to my cousin's house for a BBQ and a massive fireworks show. That was SO much fun and I'll get those pictures off my phone sometime this week. Probably. 

Sunday, after church and naps, we headed to Shane's sister, Val's, house for...you guessed it, a BBQ and more fireworks. Val had set up the kiddie pool and a slip 'n slide, though, so the kids entertained themselves for most of the time we were there. It was great. Our kids didn't last long (attention span-wise) with the fireworks because they were just DONE with fireworks by this point (Shane and I were as well). They all crashed on the way home, which means it was a good day. :)

Day Off

Shane had July 3rd off, so we decided to do something fun as a family. We've been pretty boring this summer, so Shane and I decided to surprise the kids with something they've been begging to do for a few months: Chuck-E-Cheese! Of course, we hit Red Robin for lunch first.

 After eating, we played it up with the kids saying stuff like, "Well, we could go home and take naps...or we could go to CHUCK-E-CHEESE!!" They were SO excited! And since it was the middle of the day, we almost had the place to ourselves.

Lexi BEGGED to do Rock Band. It was a really bad idea.

Everyone ended up in tears since it really isn't a game meant for a 5 year old.

Prizes!

After collecting their hard-earned prizes, we headed home for late naps. Everyone crashed. :) After short-late naps, we headed to our friends' house (Sam and Jess) for a BBQ, only it was raining! We moved it indoors and the storm passed in 30 minutes, so then we moved it back outside. The kids just played and played and Shane got humped by a (girl) dog. It was hilarious and we all just about died laughing (although Shane didn't see the humor until later). ;)
It was a great day.
