Girl's Night Out Baby Shower

My friend, Jess, is having her second baby, but first girl in a couple of weeks.  She said she didn't need a baby shower because she already has a crib and stroller and the big stuff, but what she really wanted was a relaxing night out with the girls one more time.  Our friend, Kim, and I planned the girl's night out shower.  :)  We went to a nail salon for some great pedicures first.

 The nail color I chose before figuring out which nail art I was getting was a sparkly, light red, but after she put such a deep red on my big toes, the rest of my toes look pink now.  I have a matching red at home, so one of these days I'll get around to fixing the other ones so they all match.

After we all had cute toes and soft feet, we headed to the Olive Garden and got the best server EVER, Tony.  He was hilarious!

We had Jess model her new hospital gown.

Which led to Tony saying, "Catwalk, lady, catwalk!" and Jess walking up and down the aisle.

Towards the end of our meal, Kim got up to go to the bathroom and jokingly said, "Don't ditch me, guys!"  Tony just happened to be walking behind her at that moment and as soon as she was around the corner, turned to us and said, "Let's move!!"  Then he moved us and all of our stuff across the restaurant.  We were laughing so hard the whole night.

Father's Day Lunch

With such a fun, busy day the day before (see previous post), I bet the kids would have slept in until 9:00 if we didn't have to be leaving by 8:00 the next morning.  I didn't feel bad at all as I woke them all up at 7:00 AM.  mwahahaha  Revenge is sweet, kiddos.  We dropped them off at my mom's house in North Salt Lake, then headed to the Bountiful temple to see my dad and Heidi get sealed.  After that, we picked the kids up and headed to a luncheon at Heidi's parents' house in Layton.  The food wasn't ready when we got there, so we just chatted with everyone for a bit because we had to leave to go to a Father's Day lunch with Shane's family.

We met up at the Riverdale splash pad and turned the kids loose!

I think it was 4:00 by the time we got home.  The kids hadn't had naps in two days and they all crashed.  This is the best part of summer!

This Is the Place

I've never been to This Is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake, so I was really excited when my friend, Kelly, told me that they were having a free day last Friday (the 14th).

Kaden asked if these guys were pirates.  hahaha

I hope he never grows out of this posing phase.  LOVE it!

 We decided to get the free ice cream while there still wasn't much of a line.

Kaden got, like, 8 scoops because the guy said he waited so patiently.

This was Ari's first pony/horse ride.  She loved it and twice around wasn't enough for her.  When the horse stopped, I reached up to grab her, but she very loudly yelled, "I'M NOT DONE YET!!"  The "cowboy" nearby laughed at that.  Ari kept saying it as she grabbed the saddle horn with all her might.  Finally, I was able to pull her off and, in an effort to help with the crying, I said, "Tell the horse goodbye!" and had Ari pet it.  That helped, but we'll have to get her back on a horse again.  :)

Sadly, we could only be there a couple of hours.  The kids would have loved to have stayed all day!  But, we had to get back because my mom decided to take all of the grandkids to Monkey Mountain in Park City.  8 kids, 2 grandparents, who do you think will be more exhausted?

My mom isn't in the habit of taking pictures, but she got a couple.  Only one of which isn't totally blurry.  hahaha

 While my mom and Kent tried to hold on to their sanity in Park City, Shane and I went on a date!  To, where else?, Red Robin!

The kids got home around 10:00 PM and were completely exhausted.  Yay!!  :D  Straight to bed!
